Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data LiviQ collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law.
Plain-English summary: We collect only what we need to run the platform. We do not sell your data. You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time. Our AI features send anonymised profile data to Anthropic (USA) to generate match scores — only when you explicitly request it.

4. AI-powered features and your data
LiviQ uses Claude, an AI model provided by Anthropic PBC, to generate compatibility scores between seekers and listings. This is an opt-infeature: no AI analysis runs until you explicitly click “Get AI match”.
When you request an AI match score, we send the following data to Anthropic:
- Your lifestyle and personality questionnaire responses
- Your seeker preferences (occupation type, age range, deal-breakers, ideal home description)
- The listing's house rules, vibe description, and match preferences
We do not send your name, email address, or any directly identifying information to Anthropic.
AI match results are cached in our database for up to 30 days to avoid redundant API calls. The cache is invalidated automatically if you update your profile, lifestyle, or personality data.
LiviQ also uses Claude to power the AI listing assistant — a chat interface on listing pages that answers questions about the property. No personal data from your profile is sent for these chat interactions; only the listing's own content is provided.
Human decision — always. AI match scores are a guide to help you explore listings more efficiently. They are not binding decisions, do not gate access to any listing, and do not automatically accept or reject any application. You are always free to contact any listing or person regardless of the score displayed, and you may disregard the score entirely. No score alone determines any outcome on LiviQ.
For more information about your rights in relation to automated processing, see Section 8 below. For more information about how Anthropic processes data, see the Anthropic Privacy Policy.
5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the service providers listed below, who act as our data processors under UK GDPR Article 28.
| Provider | Purpose | Location | Safeguard |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase Inc. | Database, authentication, file storage | USA (AWS eu-west) | Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) |
| Anthropic PBC | AI compatibility analysis (opt-in only) | USA | Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) |
| Resend Inc. | Transactional email delivery | USA | Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) |
| Google LLC | OAuth sign-in (if you use "Sign in with Google") | USA | EU-US Data Privacy Framework |
| Vercel Inc. | Website hosting and delivery | USA / Global CDN | Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) |
We may also disclose data if required by law, a court order, or to protect the rights and safety of LiviQ, its users, or the public.
6. International data transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the UK (primarily in the United States). Where we transfer personal data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR Chapter V, including:
- UK International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs) or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with the relevant provider
- Transfers to providers covered by the UK-US Data Bridge adequacy decision where applicable
If you would like more information about the specific transfer mechanisms in place for any of our providers, please contact us at hello@liviq.uk.
7. How long we keep your data
| Data type | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Account and profile data | Until you delete your account, then permanently erased within 30 days |
| Listings and photos | Until the listing is deleted or your account is deleted |
| Messages and visit requests | Until your account is deleted |
| AI match cache | 30 days from generation, or immediately on profile update |
| Newsletter subscriptions | Until you unsubscribe |
| Technical/security logs | 90 days |
When you delete your account, your profile is anonymised immediately (name replaced with “Deleted User”, all personal fields cleared) and your authentication record is permanently removed. Anonymised aggregate data (e.g. listing view counts) may be retained for analytical purposes.
8. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
Right to access
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (a Subject Access Request). We will respond within one calendar month.
Right to rectification
You can update most of your data directly from your Account settings page. If you need us to correct something we hold that you cannot edit yourself, contact us.
Right to erasure
You can delete your account at any time from Account settings → Delete account. This permanently and irreversibly deletes all your personal data.
Right to restriction of processing
In certain circumstances you may ask us to restrict how we process your data while a complaint or dispute is resolved.
Right to data portability
You may request a structured, machine-readable copy of the data you provided to us (Art. 20 UK GDPR). Email hello@liviq.uk with the subject line Data portability request. We will respond within 30 days with a JSON export of your profile, listings, messages, and payment history.
Right to object
Where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis, you have the right to object to that processing. We will stop unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds.
Rights related to automated decision-making (UK GDPR Art. 22)
UK GDPR Article 22 protects you from decisions made solelyby automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. LiviQ's AI features are designed to fall outside this restriction — here is how:
- AI Match scores are a guide, not a decision. The compatibility score generated by Claude (Anthropic) tells you how well your profile aligns with a listing. It does not accept or reject you, does not block you from contacting a landlord, and does not determine any outcome. Every housing decision is made by a human — either you choosing which listings to pursue, or a landlord choosing who to invite for a viewing.
- You are in control. You choose when to run an AI analysis (it is opt-in, costs 1 Key, and never runs without your explicit click). You can ignore the result entirely.
- No profiling for exclusion. LiviQ does not use automated profiles to exclude you from seeing listings, receiving messages, or using the platform. The AI score is personalised guidance, not a gatekeeping mechanism.
- Right to human review. If you believe an AI result has affected your experience on LiviQ in a way that feels unfair, you may contact us at hello@liviq.uk to request a manual review. We will respond within one calendar month.
- Right to opt out. You can choose never to use the AI Match feature. All core LiviQ functionality — searching, messaging, viewing listings, requesting visits — is fully available without any AI analysis.
The AI listing chat assistant operates separately: it answers questions about a specific property's content and does not profile users or influence any decisions.
Right to withdraw consent
Where we rely on your consent (newsletter only), you can withdraw it at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@liviq.uk. We will respond within one calendar month. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Cookies
LiviQ uses only strictly necessary cookies. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
sb-[project]-auth-token | Stores your authentication session so you remain logged in. Set by Supabase Auth. Without this cookie the login system cannot function. | Session / up to 7 days |
Because we use only strictly necessary cookies, we are not required to obtain your consent under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). No cookie consent banner is shown.
Our fonts are self-hosted (loaded at build time, not from Google's servers), so no Google cookies are set on your device.
10. Children's privacy
LiviQ is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us at hello@liviq.uk and we will delete the account promptly.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify registered users by email before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version. Continued use of LiviQ after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact us and your right to complain
